Gauteng Regionals March 04 2014

This past weekend, Homemakers Fair at the Coca-Cola Dome was host to the Gauteng Barista Regionals. The competitors already had a place secured at Nationals, but there was still a title and prizes to compete for - the Best Barista in Gauteng, a R4500 watch (courtesy of Tissot) and the simple thrill of being the winner. Competition was tough and on the final day, two-time National Champ winner and strong favourite, Ishan Natalie, was beat out by Phumlani Sibeko, who used a single origin Guatemalan. Phumlani was honoured to have competed against the former GP title holder and attributed Ishan as being a good friend and inspiration in the industry.

These are the results from the competition:

Barista Championship Top 6

1. Phumlani Sibeko
2. Ishan Natalie
3. Sipho Mabaso
4. Matt Carter
5. Casper Ncube
6. Dale Fienberg
