COVID-19: COFFEE ROASTING DURING LOCKDOWN

According to Government Gazette 43148, Page 10 A.1.i – Any food product, including non-alcoholic beverages, have been grouped under Section A GOODS (CATEGORISATION OF ESSENTIAL GOODS AND SERVICES DURING LOCKDOWN).

Roasters can apply for certification to prove they are essential service providers during the 21-day national lockdown period. Only businesses deemed essential by government will be able to continue trading. Minister of Trade and Industry Ebrahim Patel have announced that businesses can apply for required certification via the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission’s Bizportal website bizportal.gov.za. Businesses which are registered with the CIPC such as companies, close corporations and co-operatives will be able to apply for certification.
